Our story…
Who we are :
Lue & Kaleo Inc is an education, consulting and events company that teaches our clients to live their best possible life through Dance and Wellness.
What we do & How we do it:
We teach dancers, 13 to 20 years old, as other athletes do with their sports, to leverage their talents in dance to succeed artistically, academically and professionally no matter what their career path by facilitating college and career prep programs for dancers through performing arts summer intensives and prepatory workshops.
We help dance organizations and dance educators to streamline their businesses and organize their curriculum/syllabus to lighten the work load and focus on retention and growth of the studio.
We are passionate about teaching stress alleviation through fitness, mindfulness and meditation by teaching Perimenopausal women how to prioritize their well being through an 8 week Resetting program and yearly retreats.
We love to help you celebrate life’s moments in a grand way with our curated custom themed experiences for all ages.
Why we do it:
A note from the Founder, Keisa Parrish (bio below) -
I’m a classically trained professional dancer with a BFA in dance from Fordham University, a Wellness and Dance educator, a former Radio City Rockette and a single mother. I have been all of our clients. I was the teen dancer who had no idea how to leverage my talents to help pay for college, or choose a different school that better suited my choices and goals for my life or to skip college altogether and begin working professionally. So I became the college student who graduated $50,000 in debt with a BFA in Dance and no support or guidance from my college on how to get out in the real world, make a living and chase my dreams. And as a single mother, living in a fast paced city, I needed many jobs to support me and my child while I still pursued my dreams. So I know what it's like to be busy, stressed, and so inundated with work obligations, home responsibilities and social invitations that you do not realize how much stress is negatively affecting your health. But now through my 30 years of being a dancer, 25 years of teaching dance, 17 years of judging dance competitions and 13 years of being a health and wellness teacher, I have learned the solutions and how to effectively relay them to others.
Over the years of working in the dance industry, talking, teaching and networking with other dancers that chose or defaulted into different paths I’ve concluded and have witnessed that there are all sorts of ways to use dance to get the life you want. From working professionally right out of high school to attending a college dance program that can support the many career paths a dancer could take both on and off stage. I was the director of a scholarship program and learned about the many opportunities for scholarships for high school dancers, even if they choose not to major in dance. And because I’ve taught at and managed dance studios, well known performing arts institutions, dance conventions as well as judged dance competitions, I’ve seen the large number of dancers; recreational, competitive and pre-professional that don’t know the options they have to leverage their talents to create their best possible life. And through my studies of being a yoga, pilates, wellness and mindfulness teacher who educates people on ways to care for themselves, I know the signs that point to a diminishing health. So my knowledge of the benefits of wellness (fitness, mindfulness) spoken in a relatable way from my own real world experiences helps me to communicate clearly and effectively with our clients. I know it. I’ve been it. I’ve studied it. I’ve changed it. And I’ve seen the results. And I’m on a mission to help others.”
