LueKaleo’s Performing Arts Summer Program

A 4-week experience for intermediate to advance dancers, 9th - 12th grade, exposing them to ALL the different techniques and styles of dance. Dancers must audition in person or virtually (by submitting video of class combo or a solo) to be considered. We are looking for students that are passionate about using their talents to succeed artistically, academically, and professionally in life. LueKaleo Performing Arts is striving to not just make them a more well rounded dancer, but to make them a more well rounded person. Critical thinking, team work, problem solving and the understanding that while people, places and things may at first glance seem different, there are many similarities that can be explored helps to build character. Each day dancers will have 3 hours of technique class, lunch break and a 2 hour rehearsal. Classes will include; Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Body Conditioning, Contemporary, Folkloric plus rehearsal. Each Friday there will be a guest teacher covering topics in college prep information, resume building, different techniques, the variety in commercial & concert industry, as well as discussions about careers in dance beyond the stage. This program culminates with a performance.
